The Assistant Secretary-General Feng Xiaoxi from China Video Industry Association said, China Video Industry Association is working with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments to formulate The Energy Efficient Standard for FPD-Television.

 

It is known that the energy efficient standard has gone through the WTO/TB notification, will expected to be published on the first half of this year and implement on the second half of this year. According to the difference of LCD TV and Plasma TV, the coming standard will have two energy efficiency indicators. In order to be consistent with the international standards, the energy efficiency standards for FPD-Television set the limit for standby power consumption.

In addition, similar to the energy-efficiency label for air-condition products, the FPD-Television  energy efficiency label will contain the name of manufactory, product specifications, energy efficiency levels, energy efficiency index, passive standby power and the energy efficiency national standard number.

In 2009, the sales number for our domestic color television is 39.54 million, 80% of them are FPD-TV which reach to 31.6 million and become the dominant products in the domestic market. Compare to the tradition CRT TV, FPD TV have greater energy consumption but lack of a national compulsory energy-efficiency standard.

The Secretary-General of China Household Electrical Appliances Association Xu Dongsheng believes that Household Electrical Appliances Association is promoting the industry to pay more attention in technology innovation and product upgrading, leading the industry to “low-carbon, green, healthy and comfortable” development.
