| WTO/TBT Notification, Consultation & Research Center (The Center) is a government department under the administration of Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Focus on WTO/TBT treaties and regulations, The Center develops an effective communication platform between government and domestic companies, and provides the consulting services to Guangdong enterprises on technical barriers to trade guidelines. It is responsible for informing Guangdong TBT news to worldwide WTO members through national WTO/TBT organization. At the meanwhile, The Center will release international WTO/TBT information to Guangdong enterprises, and publish industrial regulations, standards, assessments etc. Based on our extensive WTO/TBT data, we will provide consulting service to local enterprises when they encounter technical barriers to trade and research on international TBT topics. |

- Collect and promptly release WTO/TBT related information
- Publish overseas policies and regulations
- Alert domestic enterprises with any changes on international trade conditions, technical requirements and business environment
- Provide consulting service on WTO/TBT regulations and rules and suggest appropriate treatments
- Answer international trade barriers enquiries
- Carry out researches and case studies on international trade related issues
- Maintain relations with local foreign embassies, chambers and organizations to obtain first-hand information on international trading and seek business opportunity for our enterprises

Information
Inform Guangdong¡¯s new policy on TBT to WTO members through central department.
Release international WTO/TBT policies, standard, assessment etc. to Guangdong enterprises.
Discussion
Discuss on new TBT policies and provide feedbacks to central departments, so as to protect GD enterprises¡¯ rights.
Enquiries
Answer enquiries on domestic and international technical regulations, quality standard, and assessment information. Provide consulting service to exporting business on international TBT information, and provide overseas investors the local policy information.
Research
Collect international and domestic TBT information, develop TBT information database, and research on valuable TBT topics and carry out case studies. |

| WTO/TBT PRE-WARNING SYSTEM |
| Guangdong WTO/TBT warning system plays an important role in technology standard strategies in Guangdong province. The system focuses on the information notification, WTO/TBT warning website platform, and specific countermeasure sections. Through the system, our local exporting enterprises can easily prepare the unexpected issues and become the health, stabilizing, and developing enterprises. |

| EU ¡°WEEE/RoHS¡± SEMINA |
| To help our province electrical and electronic enterprises to understand the latest electronic progress, and better control response ¡°WEEE / RoHS¡± method to the impact of the relevant industry in our province, On 19th May 2005, our center has conducted a seminar in Guangzhou China that have introduced manufacturers to the requirements of the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directives. Participants of the seminar put forward that the cost-benefit analysis should be done for the assessment of new regulations of China on EE wastes, and the environmental management of EE wastes is further studied. The success of this seminar delegated over 200 local organizations with a clearer understanding of how to respond and a clear direction to ¡°WEEE / RoHS¡±. |
